THE PRESSURE OF TESTS AND COURSEWORK

THE PREASSURE OF TESTS AND COURSEWORK
When you are given assignments the deadline may seem so far until you notice that there are few days before submission. On the other hand the tests are coming, suddenly you no longer know whether to study for test or do your coursework and you realize that pressure is building up.

Truly there is pressure and more workload I cannot deny especially the two weeks before we close. This has somehow caused frustration and sleepless night to squeeze all the work in a short time and meet the deadlines and prepare for the exams. This is not a good feeling at all, however I have no choice but to endure and produce excellence in my tests and course work, besides no one wants to fail in life.

To find the solution to this pressure is firstly to find what caused the pressure because there is no solution without a problem. I believe the reason for this pressure is lack of time management in addition to that I was new in the United Kingdom and I spend most of time exploring the beauty of this nation and enjoying the excitement that I forgot that I was a had lot of work. Therefore the solution is simply time management. Never say tomorrow when you are given home, avoiding pilings notes and have a timetable and discipline yourself to follow it and by time tests come you don’t have to study all notes at once.

THE PRESSURE OF TESTS AND COURSEWORK
It is almost impossible for someone to get used to tests. However well prepared an individual may be he or she will always feel that last moment pressure.
It is quite normal though for someone to feel this pressure. Pressure at times enables us to work harder. There are people who cant work when they are not under pressure and most times end up failing there given tasks.
When someone is under pressure, with an approaching deadline, he will definitely work faster in order to complete the coursework. This comes with a number of consequences as well. For example an individual may make a number of mistakes due to this pressure and this may lead to poor grades.
There are ways in which a individual can avoid pressure. The most important one is not waiting for the last minute to get prepared. You should always finish your work long before the deadline in order to give yourself some breathing space.

The Pressure of Tests and Coursework

Has this been a stressful term for me? It kind of has… It’s not that the amount of work we have to do is so unbelievably huge. The problem is rather that, personally, as a student, I cannot seem too plan as well as I should, and I leave most to the very last minute.

Starting uni this year I promised myself (and others), that I would give a 110% from the very beginning and no matter what, that I wouldn’t fall behind on my coursework. Did I keep that promise? Not really… I tend to struggle finding motivation to start on something. So even though I have done what I’ve been obliged to do, I could have done so better. I could have started earlier, could have prepared more, could have read more, and could have gotten a better result overall.

See, the thing is. I was planning on doing the accelerated route, if possible, as I am 23, sick of school ages ago, and want to start my life (saving a whole year at uni, would also be very beneficial on the money-side of it). Now though, I am pretty sure I can leave that thought behind, and just focus on doing my best. If I’m stuck an extra year, I probably need it…

So what is my plan for next term? Well, I just really, really need to find that motivation over the holiday. Then I need to do, like I said, my very best. Hopefully I won’t manage to bad J

Pressure of tests and coursework on me so far

I have really felt the pressure from the tests I have taken so far. I think its because I am on the accelerated route program so all my test scores have to be above 60% so I have this in mind when taking all my tests. The timetable for the tests was not really  helping matters since it had 3 tests on consecutive days in the same week not giving me enough time to prepare between tests. But no matter I still took the tests how they came and I am pretty much sure in my abilities to achieve my set marks in each of them.
The pressure of the coursework has not been any less easy on me than the tests. Even though its only one I have been given so far, procrastination and laziness is stopping me from facing it squarely with the deadline approaching rapidly. The real pressure of this coursework(business management) is the same with that of the tests, the fact that I have to get above 60%. So you can say these tests and coursework have it in for me this autumn but not to worry because ''I will fight and I will conquer''(got this from napoleon).
I can ease up the pressure on the coursework my starting it now when I still have time, obviously. There is really nothing to do about the tests though, since I have already completed them with Academic skills being the final one I took today. What I can do though is prepare myself for the tests coming up next year so the pressure will be less on me next-time.

The Never-Ending Pressures Of Tests and Coursework

The Pressure of Tests & Coursework

The never-ending pressure of tests and exams cannot be explained as it is on so many levels than one. There is the pressure you get in GCSE’s, which many people. Having schooled in this country, it may not be as heavy as that of A levels. This is because people inevitably believe that their grades won’t count towards their university application, at least majority of the subjects they do, like Spanish, RS and other subjects. However, in A levels, it’s now or never. The pressure one has feels like, “This is it!” the beginning of my life. They then begin to feel a greater pressure than that of GCSE’s, where they felt like it didn’t count as much. Well things change. It does count, not one, but all.

That said, in University, it is an entirely different feeling. Now it’s more like, “Make it or Break it”, and the pressure people get from these exams and tests are that it is a “must” to do well. However, in terms of this term, with the workload and other miscellaneous activities the University of Essex has to offer, such as sports, big difference charities and nights out, I would say that the tests and it’s individual pressures (per module) have been spread out almost evenly amongst the last few weeks of my first semester at university. People seem to over exaggerate the level of work in university, however, at my current level of International Academy, having gone through two years of A levels before starting my university course to me, seems like a walk in the park. That is until it gets harder next semester.

In my honest opinion, the work load may be seen as a lot to some people, but to me, I feel that I can handle it because I have already done this type of work to the same standard as well as the academic level it constitutes.

BLOG 2 – THE PRESSURE OF TESTS & COURSEWORK

The subject of our second blog is the Pressure of Tests & Coursework. Please take time to think about how stressful this term has been so far. Has the workload been too heavy or has it been manageable? What can you do to lighten the load and make life easier for yourself? What concerns  do you have about your work and what expectations? Please plan your thoughts in Word first so you can check you spelling, grammar, punctuation, style etc. before posting. Please feel free to make (respectful and thoughtful) comments on others’ posts. These posts can only be read by myself and the other students in your academic skills class. N.B. Please refrain from insulting or offensive language. I will have to remove it and it may constitute an academic offence.
