The Never-Ending Pressures Of Tests and Coursework

The Pressure of Tests & Coursework

The never-ending pressure of tests and exams cannot be explained as it is on so many levels than one. There is the pressure you get in GCSE’s, which many people. Having schooled in this country, it may not be as heavy as that of A levels. This is because people inevitably believe that their grades won’t count towards their university application, at least majority of the subjects they do, like Spanish, RS and other subjects. However, in A levels, it’s now or never. The pressure one has feels like, “This is it!” the beginning of my life. They then begin to feel a greater pressure than that of GCSE’s, where they felt like it didn’t count as much. Well things change. It does count, not one, but all.

That said, in University, it is an entirely different feeling. Now it’s more like, “Make it or Break it”, and the pressure people get from these exams and tests are that it is a “must” to do well. However, in terms of this term, with the workload and other miscellaneous activities the University of Essex has to offer, such as sports, big difference charities and nights out, I would say that the tests and it’s individual pressures (per module) have been spread out almost evenly amongst the last few weeks of my first semester at university. People seem to over exaggerate the level of work in university, however, at my current level of International Academy, having gone through two years of A levels before starting my university course to me, seems like a walk in the park. That is until it gets harder next semester.

In my honest opinion, the work load may be seen as a lot to some people, but to me, I feel that I can handle it because I have already done this type of work to the same standard as well as the academic level it constitutes.
